Learning and Teaching In Orlando

I wasn't able to view the videos, but I'm sure there some interesting applications. Further, because I wasn't able to view these, I created a video reflection discussing the project work I'm currently doing at the Apple Distinguished Educator Institute in Orlando, FL. I will later post the video that represents the group project I'm working on.

Week 1

I thought chapter one was interesting. In 2007, I participated in an Enhancing Education Through Technology (EETT) Grant. I really think that technology grants are a great way to get students involved and for teachers to create innovative products that really can push students to be innovative, and even as a vehicle to bring student work and learning into the community.
Based on these experiences, I was able to really find ways to motivate my students by connecting more traditional research and writing with digital media technology, specifically digital film.

I also really like how the chapter talked about various types of assessment and how to measure learning in a technology rich environment. I think grants and the support that can come with the one- like the training that the EETT grant that I worked with had, are really great for helping educators to maximize the uses of these technologies. Further, technology can really be a way to get students to be self-directed and creative.
